If there's one thing I can't stand its politics. No Really. If someone has an agenda I think they should say. It is a waste of time and energy trying to get a simple thing achieved if everybody is manouvering and backstabbing. Especially if it is my back they're stabbing.
I need a lane to my club that doesn't have random plunge pools along it. I'm worried my ante-natal class will all deliver their babies half way down.. I have a few neighbours who don't want the plunge pools either.
I invite them to a meeting. We agree we would like the road surfaced but we need more information about types of road surface, because it goes across common land and it needs to be 'in-keeping'. I'm glad in a way that all 6 weren't in favour of Tarmac because I have a big environmental problem with it. We agree to ask the man from the council what our options are, as we need a surface that can cope with 30,000 journeys across per year, I ring and ask him.
He tells me he has already been told in detail about our meeting (not too accurate detail either) by our local ward councillor (who wasn't there) and so our meeting is too political for any council employee to attend.
I'm a WISIWIG person - what you see is what you get! I run my business in a straightforward way and if it treads on someone's toes, they can let me know and I will do something.
So we'll have a meeting with the ward councillor instead - I've had run-ins before. Big Pointless Useless Waste of Time Trouble caused for no reason whatsoever that I can see (and no-one will tell me to my face). I can't go into detail - it still raises my blood pressure now. I got what I wanted in the end. So this is what I'm expecting again.
Anyway - this green-ish dilemma is really stressing me out! I need to get back to light bulbs and washing machines pronto!
