Hi, nice post. It is very difficult these days to find an honest Green Energy supplier. Living in Scotland we have always went with Scottish Hydro, they seem to have the better deal of the major firms. Cheers.

It might be worth using a natural skin protectant such as Boudreaux's Butt Paste, we ha some sent to us free of charge and have passed it on to several parents. It's had a very positive effect. The use of a decent protectorant allows you to use a nappy that is slightly less absorbant, cloth nappies often are.

I'm not blogging as much about global warming as I used to do, because the subject has really taken off in terms of public awareness, and I think blogging on about it won't be very interesting because the public have had overload on the subject. more…

In my experiance a heat gun works far better than chamical paint stripper which promises all delivers nowt and is as you know by now chemical hell.
For your paths glyphosate, while by now means organic is supposed to be fairly benign and is effective. Again you could use a heat gun on the weeds which is very effective.

Hello! I do hope that your thumb is okay.
I don't think that your green credentials are in much danger. I say that because you're certainly greener than most and instances like these practicality has to come first. I'm sure that you'll compensate another time.
Take care and have a good week. more…

I planted spuds this year - first year ever - in our new allottment totally expecting them to get blight. But they havent. cant quite believe it. Slugs have totally destroyed the cabbages though. Do you use kill slugs and if so how?
How are the eco balls? Laundry girl also uses them - dont think she is quite convinced either- her link more…

Love the camel joke - it can fit in nicely with the 'maths' section (Why does Mr D maths teacher - take a ruler to bed? So he knows how long he's been asleep) also, Why is 6 scared, because 7 8 (ate) 9.

ps. Geography
Why is the sun so bright?
- because it pays attention and does its homework :)

Oh dear, so sorry to hear about the problems. It all brings back memories of my allotment days.
Blight only takes one plot holder who won't buy clean certified seed and he wrecks every ones crops.
The foot print thing I know too :-(

Thanks lonemum - I don't know where all the guests will go if we have to be indoors. When my eldest was christened it was the 27th June and I had a flat (with garden). It rained heavily all day and we were shoulder to shoulder!
Oops - forgot to organise the cake (again). more…

They were a bit of a surprise to me to! An allotment neighbour gave me his plants last year as he didn't want to grow them any more and I got 10 free with my apple trees, so I'm not sure what varieties are planted where now!
